I’ve been a writer since I can remember myself. I was born in Georgia in 1989 and my family immigrated to Israel when I was 1 year old, making Jerusalem our home. I grew up watching sci-fi and fantasy shows and loved escaping to imaginary worlds. I was influenced as a child by Stargate SG-1, Sliders and Star Trek: The Next Generation to name a few on TV, and by Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings and Animorphs which I read repeatedly. Inspired by the stories I’ve read, I started writing my first novel when I was about 10. This novel however was scrapped quickly. I was only 10 after all and had homework.

Cut to my adulthood. After dabbling in songwriting, poetry and short stories for years, I finally felt like I was ready to try and create a new world, one that will join the so many that I dreamt of and read about. Starting out with a short story, “The Future According to Nira”, I immediately fell in love with the characters and set out to explore them further. An eleven page story in April 2016 turned into fifty pages, and quickly one-hundred. After working during my breaks from work, evenings and weekends, the first draft was done in April 2017 in a writing trip to the 101st Kilometer in the Israeli desert.

Meanwhile, I continued working on my poetry, short stories, songwriting and short films. I also became one of the founding members of a new bi-annual short film festival in Tel Aviv, Long Short Film Festival and produced the first six festival.
